This image, based on a photo I took of Ratio, one of my offspring, in an art gallery, contrasts Warhol’s pop-art construction of gun-toting iconic cool with the avant-garde non-binary cool of Now. I intend to scale this image up larger. In the original photo, Ratio is wearing a pin that says, “SILENCE = VIOLENCE.” When I scale the image up to a larger size, in the next iteration, I intend to make that pin visible. These are the first versions on canvas. Previously, I did three versions on paper in honor of Ratio’s 18th birthday.
